Who we are
Conley Cares Foundation is committed to improving health outcomes for Black moms, birthing individuals, families, and students pursuing careers in maternal health. Through direct support, education, advocacy, and mentorship, we work to eliminate the disparities that continue to threaten the well-being and lives of Black women and families across generations.
But this work is more than a mission—it’s personal.
Conley Cares was born from my own deeply personal experiences as a Black mother navigating a healthcare system that often ignored, dismissed, and devalued my voice.
I know what it feels like to have your pain minimized, your intuition questioned, and your body treated as an afterthought. I know the trauma of miscarriage, the terror of a life-threatening postpartum complication, and the sting of racist comments made in the middle of labor. I also know the power of reclaiming your birth experience—of building a team that reflects and respects you, and of learning to advocate fiercely for your health and your life.
My story is not unique—and that’s the problem. Too many Black birthing individuals face preventable complications, systemic neglect, and cultural insensitivity in a system that wasn’t built for us. I founded the Conley Cares Foundation to change that.
